How we approach
data challenges.

We understand data projects are messy. Conflicting requirements, legacy systems, organisational politics. We bring discipline without dogma.

// philosophy

Raw data is cheap.
Insight is discipline.

Anyone can collect data. The hard part is turning it into something useful, and keeping it useful over time. That requires rigour, not just technology.

+Correctness
Flash

We'd rather build something that works reliably than something that looks impressive but breaks under scrutiny.

+Explainability
Black-box magic

Every system we build can be understood, debugged, and maintained by your team. Not just by us.

+Business outcomes
Tooling novelty

We choose technologies that solve your problem, not technologies that pad our portfolio.

// process

How we work.

[01]

Understand

We listen first. Before proposing solutions, we diagnose root causes. Often the real problem isn't what it first appears to be.

[02]

Design

We architect solutions that scale and survive handover. No brittle hacks, no tribal knowledge dependencies.

[03]

Build

We ship incrementally and test rigorously. Every commit leaves the system in a working state.

[04]

Enable

We transfer knowledge and build internal capability. The goal is independence, not dependency.

// getting started

How a first engagement works.

Most clients start with the AI & BI Readiness Audit: a fixed-scope review of your reporting, data models, and AI readiness, delivered in weeks, not months. You get a findings report, a prioritised fix list, and a clear picture of what's worth doing next.

From there, the audit tells us whether the right next step is a viability pilot, a dedicated build, or nothing at all. Sometimes the honest answer is that you don't need a consultant yet.

// the fair question

What happens if Tom is unavailable?

A fair thing to ask of any boutique consultancy, so here's the straight answer: every system is documented as it's built. No tribal knowledge, no dependencies on my memory.

If I disappeared tomorrow, your team would still own a system they understand and can run. Continuity isn't a contingency plan here. It's the deliverable.

// tom

Systems should teach, not just function.
